Julie Foulkes
CHAIRPERSON
Wimborne St Giles is a wonderful place to live, with a great community spirit. Our village hall plays a large part in bringing people together. Over the years, we’ve had many parties, celebrations, and quiz nights at the hall. I’ve lived here for 23 years and have been a committee member for the past seven, serving as Chairperson for two of those.
I run a weekly fitness group in the hall. While it’s primarily about staying active, it’s also become a valuable support network for our members.
I’m also part of the team that provides breakfasts for weddings held at St Giles House – a role I really enjoy.
I like running, walking, and keeping fit. I also look after my grandchildren – two of whom live in the village – and when time allows, you’ll find me in my art studio at the top of my garden, working on something creative. One of my recent projects was repainting the village sign Saint Giles, which stands in the centre of the village.

Sarah Rampton
VICE CHAIRPERSON
I’ve lived in Wimborne St Giles for over 20 years, and I’ve served on the committee for most of that time. I love our hall and spend a lot of my time there, running our Jolly Days. We’ve had many family parties there – including our 25th Wedding Anniversary and my 50th and 60th birthdays. Andy and I got married at the hall and had a humanist ceremony in the garden and a party in the hall.
I’m a huge fan of the Sunday Teas and can often be found helping to serve or washing up – or even better, consuming some of the excellent food on offer. As a result, I have to be a long-standing member of the weekly yoga and fitness groups! The hall is a beautiful space that offers us the chance to be a community, and it has a very special place in my heart – I will therefore do all I can to support it and keep it going for everyone to enjoy.

Alison Verrion
TREASURER
I am the treasurer and primary contact for booking the village hall and have been part of the committee for 5 years.
I enjoy helping people with their plans when they book the hall for an event or class and will quite often put them in contact with local people that can bake, cater or do flowers for them. I also enjoy helping with the coffee mornings, it’s lovely to see all our regulars and also meet new people to the village.
I have lived in the village for 12 years and am the gardener at St Giles House. In my spare time I enjoy more gardening as I like to live as self sufficiently as possible so grow a lot of our own food. -
Debbie Charlesworth
SECRETARY
I have lived in Wimborne St Giles with my Family for nearly 10 years. I am one of the village hall Trustees and the Hall's secretary and my main role is preparing and taking the minutes for meetings. I've done this for 7 years now and I really support the hard work and time that all the trustees and volunteers have given over the years.
I work for a local company as their bookkeeper and in my spare time love horse riding and walking my dog around the beautiful local countryside.

Sally Shephard
TEA BOOKINGS SECRETARY
I have lived in Wimborne St Giles and have had connections with the village hall for over 20 years, having held my daughters christenings and hosting many birthday parties over the years, there.
My current role on the committee is to book local charities in for our Sunday Afternoon Teas which run from April to October raising money for their very worth while causes. I know that the village hall has become a very welcome meeting place for villagers and our wider community to get together and enjoy social events.
