A different charity hosts the tea each week with people travelling from miles around to experience this much-loved local event. And it’s no wonder as it’s hard to resist the delicious selection of sandwiches and the vast array of handmade cakes, from cream-filled meringues and scones to fruit cake and tray bakes!
Over the years many thousands of pounds have been raised for various charities including local schools, churches, guide and scout groups as well as charities such as In Jolly Good Company and Forest Holme Hospice.
