Scarecrow Trail and Fun Day raises money for the school

Wimborne St Giles First School’s brilliant PTA and many other wonderful helpers organised an amazingly successful fun day on the first Sunday of half term.

There were some truly ingenious scarecrows to spot, s’mores in the woods, face painting, arts and crafts and delicious autumn treats on offer in the Village hall. We were blessed with glorious Autumn sunshine and it was so lovely to see so many families (familiar and new!) in attendance.

Well done to the creators of ‘Worzel’ and ‘Cartwheel Clive’ who beat off stiff competition to win ‘best scarecrow’! A whopping £1300 was raised for the school which is an incredible achievement! The whole day was a wonderful community event and testament to great teamwork!

The children of Wimborne St Giles First School joined In Jolly Good Company for one of their Jolly Days to help us build Mr and Mrs Jolly the scarecrows.
